Process Engineer

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for researching, designing, and developing manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves hands-on process improvements, coordination of new product launches, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Research, design, and develop manufacturing processes, including production flow and assembly methods.
• Prepare and maintain detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.
• Coordinate the manufacturing launch of new/revised products, including goal-setting, training, and evaluation.
• Create manning plans based on volume forecasts for new programs.
• Provide input on product design to optimize manufacturability and assembly.
• Design, develop, test, and source manufacturing tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Analyze processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement.
• Develop and document quality systems, including control plans, PFMEA, process flows, work instructions, and inspection plans.
• Coordinate and document Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
• Calculate and order necessary dunnage for new programs.
• Maintain documentation on downtime, scrap, and efficiency.
• Analyze data and implement countermeasures for process and equipment issues.
• Lead or participate in Kaizen activities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
• Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, layout, and production equipment.
• Problem analysis and resolution skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Access experience preferred.
